About Me
*Introduction to UX design
My introduction to this amazing career path was anything but “traditional”. My first ever experience with the design aspect of UX was when I was visiting a relatives house is Maryland. My cousin had finished the software engineering immersive course offered by General Assembly and was actually coding his own portfolio website. As soon as I saw his portfolio I knew that he needed another pair of eyes. For the rest of my trip in Maryland I would help my cousin with the UX|UI aspect of his portfolio. After that interaction I thought about how nice a career doing something like that would be, if it existed. Well turns out it does!
I had the opportunity to create working products and learn more about my future in UX design through the Google UX design certificate. through the span of 6 months I learned how to work through the design process in order to create the most user friendly product. Three projects were worked on for this portion of my education, and although google stated them “complete” I knew I needed to do expand my knowledge in order to create the best experiences for my users . After looking long and hard for the right course with the tools to provide me with the knowledge and help I sought, I finally decided to go through general assembly to obtain it after reading about their program and talking with professionals in the field.
